Brand identities, packaging, websites and advertising for businesses in Brighton, Hove and Sussex, and for household names including the All Blacks, Dulux and Tourism New Zealand.

I’m Simon Diplock, a freelance graphic designer and art director. I’ve worked with some wonderful clients, many of them for 16 years or more. This graphic design portfolio shows the full range of work I’ve done for each one. There’s plenty more in the archive, but this should give you a good idea of what I do.

Hove Antiques brand identity from Simon Diplock's graphic design portfolio, Brighton: monogram logo, gift box, business cards, shopfront awning and billboard

Featured project

Hove Antiques: a new brand identity

A monogram, wordmark for a Hove antiques dealer, carried through to packaging, business cards, shopfront signage and an Instagram campaign.

The client wanted more people to know about their business, and they wanted to show a younger audience why antiques are worth buying.

Clients who stayed

Each of these clients worked with me for at least 16 years. That kind of loyalty that I like to think, comes from doing the job well, season after season.

Brand Design

Regional Building Foundation logo with tower emblem, shown in purple and white, and a four-part wheel: networking, educating, enabling, innovating

Identity design

Regional Building Foundation

A logo and identity for the Regional Building Foundation, an offshoot of The King’s Foundation. It needed to sit comfortably alongside the parent brand, with the same sense of heritage and quality, but without borrowing its name. The tower gives it a solid, established feel, and the four-part wheel shows what the foundation does at a glance: networking, educating, enabling and innovating.

Rima Clinic branding: purple sign, scrubs, logo tiles, business cards and a laptop showing a smiling woman

Brand Identity

Rima Clinic

A brand identity for Rima Clinic. The soft purple and gentle curved mark give it a calm, premium feel that works just as well on the sign outside as it does on staff uniforms, business cards, packaging and the website.

AI-assisted forest illustrations with animal characters for a Speak Up in the Workplace campaign

campaign

Speak Up in the Workplace

A set of AI-assisted illustrations featuring Animal characters in a forest tell short stories about speaking up when something’s wrong at work, which makes a difficult subject much easier to talk about. I chose animals because they cross cultural borders, so the same stories work in all 100 markets the client operates in.

Poppies Martinborough winery branding: red poppy logo on wine labels, hanging sign, business card and wine advert

From the archive

Logo Design

Here's a few more logos from over the years; a medical centre, a church, a wine estate, a forest restoration trust, a gun dog breeder and a national payments brand. Every one had to work as well on a business card as it does on a sign.

For the launch of the inaugural Marie Zelie Reserve Pinot Noir, New Zealand’s most expensive red wine, you designed the website, tasting note booklet, label and boxing. The work met the brief completely and was received with awe. It was elegant, refined and sophisticated, with a sense of heritage that matched the wine itself.

You also redesigned our Martinborough Vineyard company labels, modernising a 20-year-old design without losing the heritage and credibility it was known for.

You have always been incredibly easy to work with, accommodating and professional

General Manager, Martinborough Vineyard
